Peå Granberg (b.1988, Umeå), furniture designer & artist based in Stockholm.

The basis of his practice is to merge form, function and sculpture and turn it into furniture, products or objects. As unique pieces, limited editions or possibly into some sort of serial production. The process is always founded out of the recycling and upcycling of found materials.

Granberg gathers materials wherever he can find it. It’s his own collection of materials. The practice he conducts, and the rules he abide by is; use what you have. It limits and controls the design process as much as it gives freedom.

When the perfect piece of wood is found and fits with a project, that’s what it’s all about. The challenge and the search, and the inspiration a piece of wood, metal, fabric or whatever can give you. Bricoleur.

Byggmästare John Mattsons minnesstiftelse, 2024:

“Pehr Åke Granberg receives the scholarship because he has pursued his vision of an alternative way of living with uncompromising creativity and desire. A way of living that is more sustainable and perhaps also more practical, beautiful and enjoyable”.
